MILK TO MEGAWATTS!

Karl Gustaf Patrik de Laval was a Swedish engineer and inventor whose early innovations revolutionized the dairy industry. Born on May 9, 1845, in the 1870s, he developed the centrifugal cream separator, a breakthrough device that dramatically improved the efficiency of separating cream from milk.

This success sparked his interest in applying high-speed rotating machinery to other fields. De Laval soon turned his attention to steam turbines, recognizing their potential for industrial and energy applications. In 1883, he patented a steam turbine capable of running at unprecedented speeds, paving the way for modern power generation and propulsion systems. His work laid the foundation for advancements in electricity production and marine engineering. From milk to megawatts, de Laval's innovations bridged agriculture and energy, leaving a legacy felt in industries across the globe.
