MARGINAL WELLS, MAJOR SUPPORT!

On May 16, 1934, the National Stripper Well Association (NSWA) was established to represent the interests of operators managing marginal oil and gas wells, commonly known as "stripper wells." These wells, typically producing less than 15 barrels of oil or 90,000 cubic feet of natural gas per day, constitute a significant portion of the U.S. energy landscape. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by these small-scale producers, the NSWA became the sole national organization dedicated to advocating for their concerns before Congress, the Administration, and federal agencies. Over the years, the association has played a pivotal role in shaping policies that impact the nation's smallest and most economically vulnerable oil and natural gas wells. The NSWA continues to ensure that the voices of these producers are heard in legislative and regulatory discussions, safeguarding their ability to contribute to the U.S. energy landscape.
