BP INCORPORATED 116 YEARS AGO!

On this day in history, April 14, 1909, the Anglo-Persian Oil Company—which would later become BP (British Petroleum)—was officially incorporated. Founded with the backing of the British government, the company secured oil concessions in Persia (modern-day Iran), marking the beginning of its rise as a global energy leader. In 1935, it was renamed the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company, and by 1954, it adopted the name British Petroleum. Over the decades, BP expanded worldwide, pioneering offshore drilling and playing a major role in shaping the modern energy industry. Today, more than a century after its incorporation, BP remains one of the world's largest energy companies, continuing to adapt and invest in the future of global energy.
