21:30Samuel Morey was an American inventor known for his pioneering work in steam and internal combustion engines. Born in Hebron, Connecticut, he later settled in Orford, New Hampshire, where he conducted much of his research. Morey experimented with steam-powered boats and successfully demonstrated a steamboat on the Connecticut River in 1793, years before Robert Fulton's more famous efforts. He also developed an early internal combustion engine, receiving a patent in 1826 for a device that used a mixture of air and fuel to create controlled explosions for power. His work laid the foundation for later developments in both steamboat propulsion and internal combustion technology. Morey's inventions did not gain widespread commercial success during his lifetime. Morey passed away on April 17, 1843, long before he would ever gain the recognition he deserved.
