HYMAN RICKOVER

Hyman Rickover, famously known as the 'Father of the Nuclear Navy,' began his naval career commanding a minesweeper in 1937. Following World War II, he played a pivotal role in developing the first nuclear-powered submarine, launched in 1951. Equipped with a pressurized water reactor, this groundbreaking vessel could travel greater distances and remain submerged for extended periods. Happy Birthday, Hyman!
